Network Nebraska - Internet2 Activities
Sandhill Cranes and other Migratory Birds

The University of Nebraska at Kearney and Network Nebraska are working with several organizations (Platte River Whooping Crane Trust, Crane Meadows Nature Center, Rowe Sanctuary) to create a high bandwidth virtual learning experience.

This will include the use of interactive video as well as video streaming capabilities to bring local and national students into the unique setting of the Platte River in central Nebraska.

The primary topic in this non-traditional learning environment will be the Sandhill Cranes and other migratory birds along the central flyway.

The project will include the placement of network enabled cameras in the core of this migration path.

The desire is to take advantage of the quality of service and high bandwidth availability of Internet2 to provide access to this fascinating learning endeavor.
